Modi'in: the documented Blackwell launch, host expansion and the distinction between Nebius equipment and Mega DC capacity.
In this article
Modi'in is Nebius's established Israeli colocation deployment. Its October 2025 launch brought Blackwell-based computing to the local market, while later agreements at Beit Shemesh and Masmiyya expanded the country's development pipeline. These are three separate sites with different operating stages.
The original article blurred the distinction between Mega DC's property specifications, Nebius's equipment and later national or commercial expansion. This refresh keeps the operating launch separate from capacity that belongs to the host or remains planned.

The launch is directly documented
Nebius's October 20, 2025 announcement identifies a colocation facility in Modi'in and a deployment described as 4,000 NVIDIA HGX B200s, with Quantum InfiniBand networking and access to NVIDIA AI Enterprise software. The announcement covers training, fine-tuning and inference services for local customers. These are the company's launch specifications, not a newly audited inventory of equipment in September 2026. The combination of accelerators, networking and software matters because a cloud service is more than a collection of GPUs. Customers need the system to allocate resources, move data and maintain consistent performance during their workloads.
The host's capacity is a separate measure
Mega DC identifies Modi'in as MDCIL-1 and lists 20 MW of total power, with 10 MW under construction for service in 2026. The host marks the site operational. These specifications describe its facility and development programme; they do not establish that Nebius occupies every megawatt. Mega DC site directory.
Mega Or's Q2 report separately lists a 9 MW IT expansion at Modi'in. The IT figure and the public host-power description use different reporting boundaries. They should retain those units rather than be treated as conflicting measurements of the same electrical load. Mega Or Q2 2026 report.
Service region and sovereign workloads
Nebius's current documentation lists public region me-west1 in Israel. A domestic service region can help customers meet location requirements, but it does not establish the building allocation of every government programme or guarantee utilization. Nebius region documentation.
The original study assigned national-supercomputer capacity and future GPU expansion too broadly across the site narrative. A programme's procurement, the provider's fleet and the host's electrical capacity are different quantities. Any future article update should connect them with a dated award, delivery or operating disclosure before making a site-specific allocation.
How Modi'in fits the larger Israeli footprint
The Beit Shemesh study and Masmiyya study cover the later capacity agreements and their construction stages. Their expansion does not imply that the original Modi'in allocation has changed by the same amount.
Modi'in's role is an established local deployment. The next useful evidence would quantify any confirmed tenant expansion and current customer-ready capacity. The Nebius company page contains the wider commercial analysis and separately dated forecasts. Reviewed through September 17, 2026.
